I also asked if they have a rehabilitation program and ‘why they haven’t got a juvenile court system’. He answered that Said was not a child. The court’s definition of a child is a person who hasn’t yet reached the age of 14. A child between 14 and 16 ‘is a big child’ and if more than 16, an adult. Later, the judge reduced Said’s sentence to eight months of imprisonment and 1500 ‘shekel’ [fine] which is a part of the punishment.
