5 Clustering Antennas by Similarity of Hourly Aggregate Patterns Visual inspection and comparison of mosaic diagrams has limited applicability. We can perform it for selected cities and regions, but can’t apply systematically for the whole country. Instead, we can apply clustering of antennas according to mean-normalized hourly activity proﬁles over week. We’ve used k-Means and varied the desired number of clusters from 5 to 15, the most interpretable results have been obtained with N = 7. Lower number of clusters mixes several behaviors, while large counts extract small clusters with too speciﬁc behaviors.
